Baby Island

Click on any picture for a larger view.

Baby Island was one of my favourite books as a child and my 10 yr old daughter is now reading it for the first time. And what tropical island is complete without hibiscus? Incidentally, my hibiscus house plant has a bloom today, too!

The body of this bag is a dark blue medium-weight denim. The top-stitching is in orangy-gold.

The outside pockets, flap lining, and strap linings are from a 100% linen tablecloth printed with flowers and geometric designs.

The flap is accented with one of the linen hibiscus flowers.

The inside of the bag is an earthtoned piece featuring leaves and flowers; I found it at a thrift store. The interior of the bag features two pockets in the same fabric.

Bid on this bag by leaving your name and a bid in the comments section. Bidding starts at $25 and increases by whole $s please. Highest bidder at 9pm (PST) / 10pm (MST) on Saturday, November 15th gets the BAG! Postage extra (from Abbotsford, BC). This bag was created by Jennie C.

Jennie, Once again I'm amazed at how straight your top stitching is. Wow! I love the fringy hybiscus on the flap too. My hybiscus bloomed today as well... almost the same color as this one.

You come up with such cool ideas. I love the fringed hybiscus. I have two hybiscus bushes with lots of buds on them. I can hardly wait until they bloom. We just planted them.
