Thanksgiving: A Time to Remember

Thanksgiving: A Time to Remember is made up of all the warm colors of autumn.

The main body of the bag is a gold-camel velvet upholstery fabric that has a backing for stability.

I found some lovely textured fabric sample pieces that I put together to grace the flap. I outlined them in a multicolor braid. The under flap is designed with four square pieces of contrasting fabrics.


Two striped fabrics were used to make the bag and I had fun using the diagonal version in several places for a different look. The front and back are camel velvet with rust and gold fabrics forming pockets that have two sections.

I found the gold leaf rhinestone button in an antique store and I finally had the perfect spot for it. The handy cell pocket has brown decorator fabric trim and braid.

Additional note about color: The rust color on the bag is not an orange rust, but darker. The two pictures of the inside of the bag depict it better.



The lining has the rust and gold fabrics and I added a lovely cotton print (thank you Cheryl) for the sides, bottom and pocket. The straps are gold velvet topped with rust shiny striped fabric and are 47” long as tied.

As usual the colors are not the greatest in the photos. The buttons I used on the pockets appear black, but they are a warm rust color.
