“Vintage flowers” was the name of the collection that this beautiful rose fabric was from. The two main fabrics were from a donation of high end fabric samples from my friend, Cheryl. They were over $50 per yard and so nice to work with. The Lime green is an embossed, cotton blend from Belgium and the floral is 100% cotton from the UK.

The flap has rounded corners and is trimmed with a perfect piece of ribbon Linda had in her stash and the eyelet is from a skirt Linda made years ago.

The front has the two fabrics with two pockets trimmed with polka dot ribbon and eyelet. For the cell pocket on the side I had a cute ribbon designed fabric piece that I just had to use for some added interest and I trimmed it with pink braid and two other contrasting fabrics.

The back has two large pockets trimmed with striped ribbon, eyelet and a matching flower button.

I had fun using different fabric pieces and trims to make the 38½" strap.

The lining is made from a pink Ralph Lauren cotton sheet and the lime green fabric. I made a double pocket of a beautiful fabric sample of green and off-white silk, which I trimmed with pink fabric and polka dot ribbon and secured with a fancy green button.

The bag measures 11" x 11¾" x 3". It is interlined with iron-on fabric to make it sturdy.

Hi Miriam: That was nice of you to give the black and white bag to your Mom. Maybe I should think about another bl. & wh. one. I am working on two smaller bags for two little cousins. I'm using the materials from their cute, favorite, outgrown clothes. It is fun creating them but so time consuming with all the little pieces! Grace

Grace, I need to commission you to make a bag JUST like this one but with a longer strap. I'm 5'10" so these straps tend to be a bit short for me. But I'm loving giving these away to folks ... although I did take the first bag I got to Hawaii with me. Man, was it popular! I'm glad you sent me more business cards because I gave away all of mine after I got the first bag!!

Hi Miriam: I can make the straps on this bag as long as you want. It will just take a little time undoing and sewing in a piece. I'm afraid I used most of the material samples on this so I can't duplicate it. If you win the bid you can let me know how much to add. Thanks for advertising our bags!!!! Grace

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited ... but you girls are going to have to make some less pretty bags so that I don't keep wanting them all! (OK, so maybe that was my husband's request - LOL!)

Grace, would you mind adding at least 8-10 inches onto the strap if at all possible?? I'm 5'10" and the black-and-white messenger bag hit me just at the bottom of my rib cage. I'd like to down closer to my waist/hips. Just let me know!!

Thanks again, gals, and have a fabulous weekend!!

P.S. Jenn, I think "Grace" is a great name (or middle name) for a girl. Had Nicolas been a girl, his name was going to be Victoria Grace. It's a family name for us ... and for you too, I do believe ... hee hee!
