The Cat of Bubastes

Click on any picture for a larger view.

Oh, the lucky winner of this bag will be the cat's meow! The Cat of Bubastes is a dungaree special made from a pair of Lucky Brand jeans (Thank you, Connie!), posh tapestry, rich brown wool and thick woven spring cottons hidden inside.

The Cat is the first flapless carrier bag for BFZ with 12 pockets and a tie closure! The front and back of the bag were so cute showcasing the Lucky labels, tags and zipper, I couldn't bring myself to cover them up with a flap. Even the zipper pull has a four-leaf clover shaped hole!

There are NINE pockets on the outside of the bag and three large pockets inside. All but one of the jean pockets are functional. The cell phone pocket has the buttonhole opening in case you like to hang keys, bobbles, whatevers on your bags.

The lining is a sturdy fawn tweed accented with white, blue and flowered cottons. The double pocket is topped with a vintage baby blue button. The smaller pocket on the interior is a British tea towel that is far more suited for The Cat from Bubastes than my linen closet. I removed the tag from the waist band of the jeans and sewed it in the lining for a professional dungaree look.

The Cat has slightly different dimensions than the typical BFZ bag. It is 17" long when lying flat and the front and back panels are 9" tall. (I love long, squatty bags!) The strap is 48" long but can be shortened by retying the knot.

As the hip patch reads, "Lucky Brand Dungarees of America: Too Tough to Die!" Long live the Cat!

Bid on this bag by leaving your name and a bid in the comments section. Bidding starts at $25 and increases by whole $s please. Highest bidder at 8am (PDT) on Saturday, September 6th gets the BAG! Postage extra (from Phoenix, AZ). This bag was created by Linda.

Ooooh! I love watching bidding wars! The only problem with an online auction is you miss out on the hair-pulling.

The trash talk is definitely one entertaining advantage of this system versus eBay!
