This bag is fresh out of the oven. I madly sewed it from start to finish last night after work.
I'll get more pictures up as soon as I have the chance [I had the chance]. I'm sneaking this post up while sitting in a workshop for my job. Shhh.
I'm just a tad in love with my recycled recycle bags. It's a great message. It's funky and cheeky (just like Alice the Fairy, a darling little book that is somewhere in my house and is currently refusing to be found [I found it!]).
It has two back pockets, one small side pocket, and two inside pockets. It's a bit smaller than the other bags - about 11" x 10" x 3.5". Still a very roomy purse.
The lengthy 51" strap can be shortened by tying the knot differently.
Sturdy Brown Denim - Mystery Pete donation.
Light Purple (mauve?) Corduroy (flap) - upholstery sample donated by Melanie G.
Wool Scraps (arrows) - an abandoned high-school project, my Great Aunty Del's closet, Kera B's donation.
Light Purple (mauve?) Plaid (lining) - Kera B's donation.
I thought we needed a better picture of the back of the bag, as well as proof that I really do have this book. So, my daughter fixed my hair up and took the picture of me reading on the front step.
The updated photos above were taken by my talented li'l sis, the Informal Matriarch. They're still kinda driving me nuts. The purple on the flap and inside the bag isn't coming out right. I would describe it as a lilac or mauve, definitely less blue than the pics show (on my PC).

me again.........
I went back and looked at "the little house" bag and I LOVE the colors used for the symbol and then i thought maybe the bold plaid gave it attitude.
So I'm excited to see what the next one looks like.
Elizabeth - you're cracking me up. Are you perhaps an "out loud" thinker?
This bag ended up smaller because my daughter did some cutting for me and in the process of straightening the lines, it lost a couple inches each way.
Yesterday, I "needed" to make a purple and brown bag. I don't have any more of that denim I used on the last bag - but I have some other denims and I'll keep making RRR bags ... hopefully one will meet with your approval :)
Very nice Jennie! I'm in awe that you can just whip that up in one evening!
ditto! I was thinkin' the same thing!
30 bucks for me
Well - it was certainly a looong evening.
I know all about long eveings to make a bag. Not always fun. Looks great Jennie!
Hi Liz! This one could be used for Franklin to carry his Baby E. "watch" from the library!!

Liz, that is why they make the straps ADJUSTABLE!! :0) I can just see him trying to keep his balance on his short little legs while lugging this bag full of goodie's around! You know he has the spunk to do it!
I'm sure enjoying all the chatter! Great bag Jennie! I am working on a sturdy tote bag this week. My friend, Cheryl gave me a lovely wool blend tapestry in greens, beiges and gold. See you next week -- Grace
SPECIAL OFFER: If you like, I can overlap the two ends of the flap together at a specified length and sew them flat so that there is no knot.
Please make more recycle bags in this new smaller size.
Alice

freaky.
Thanks so much Joyce. I have many more plans for RRR bags (as I call them).
Very freaky verification word. Are we to recycle Saskatchewan perhaps? Or perhaps just reuse ... to start off with.
